The big bad bully tries to save face in the best way he can:
Brock, who is a fool, insists he's not anti-native. When he supports the "rights" of neo-Nazis to spew anti-aboriginal hate, and is indifferent to the consequences, then what is that? So you're not anti-native, Brock: fine. You're still a creep.
I'm glad you've admitted I'm not anti-native. I note, that you have backpedaled despite the fact you were looking forward to "dancing" with me in court.
I don't think you really wanted to dance with me in court, considering you would have had no real defense. You told an indefensible lie, after all.
Kindly enough, you've backpedaled before I've had to spend a single penny on a lawyer. So much for the big, bad Kinsella.

I don't know Brock, I think that him calling you a "creep" is actionable. According to Dictionary.com the following definitions of creep are valid;
1. to move slowly with the body close to the ground, as a reptile or an insect, or a person on hands and knees.
2. to approach slowly, imperceptibly, or stealthily (often fol. by up): We crept up and peeked over the wall.
3. to move or advance slowly or gradually: The automobile crept up the hill. Time just seems to creep along on these hot summer days.
4. to sneak up behind someone or without someone's knowledge (usually fol. by up on): The prisoners crept up on the guard and knocked him out.
5. to enter or become evident inconspicuously, gradually, or insidiously (often fol. by in or into:) The writer's personal bias occasionally creeps into the account.
6. to move or behave timidly or servilely.
7. to grow along the ground, a wall, etc., as a plant.
8. to advance or develop gradually so as to infringe on or supplant something else: creeping inflation; creeping socialism.
9. to slip, slide, or shift gradually; become displaced.
10. (of a metal object) to become deformed, as under continuous loads or at high temperatures.
11. Nautical. to grapple (usually fol. by for): The ships crept for their anchor chains.
–verb (used with object)
12. Archaic. to creep along or over.
–noun
13. an act or instance of creeping.
14. Slang. a boring, disturbingly eccentric, painfully introverted, or obnoxious person.
15. Slang. an intelligence or counterintelligence agent; spy.
16. Geology.
a. the gradual movement downhill of loose soil, rock, gravel, etc.; solifluction.
b. the slow deformation of solid rock resulting from constant stress applied over long periods.
17. Mechanics. the gradual, permanent deformation of a body produced by a continued application of heat or stress.
18. a grappling iron; grapnel.
19. Firearms. the slack in a trigger mechanism before it releases the firing pin.
20. creep feeder.
21. the creeps, Informal. a sensation of horror, fear, disgust, etc., suggestive of the feeling induced by something crawling over the skin: That horror movie gave me the creeps.
—Idiom
22. make one's flesh creep, to be frightening or repellent; cause one to experience uneasiness: The eerie stories made our flesh creep.
I'm thinking that he is using example #14 in his reference to you. Let's deconstruct shall we?
You are NOT boring. The Spinsella reads your blog after all, proving that a high and mighty intellect such as his finds your blog interesting. Strike one.
You are not disturbingly eccentric, unless of course people with valid legal opinions that do not align with His Greatness The Spinsella are now considered as "disturbed" or "eccentric". Strike two.
"Painfully introverted"? I think not, you have a public blog and are a public figure. Strike three.
Are you obnoxious? Well, again, I woud say NOT, but then you have the temerity to disagree with His Greatness The Spinsella, so that may qualify in his greatly evolved mind. His problem though is not what he may consider as a standard by which to judge you, rather the standard by which the law can hold you to. Strike four.
Thus, his calling you a creep should stand the test for a libel action. I say go for it, you will find that many will willingly donate money to the cause. Myself included.
Why this invective from Mr. Kinsella? His sanctimonious anger is producing no beneficial results but only inflaming the culture war! Why can't he see that? What is his purpose (and I have asked him) except drawing attention to himself and his crusade to spew forth his angry hurtful words upon people he considers his opponents? I thought blogs were about bridgely respectful dialogue. His blog used to be full of unique keen political perspective which I have enjoyed and I have told him so, but now it is evolving into some sort of personal hate campaign. He risks marginalizing his blogging efforts into the fringes of what are known as hate blogs and we all know which those are. Mr Kinsella is made of the same fabric as you and I and capable of all the sin he accuses others of committing so where is his humanity in all of this? What is he teaching his children about compassion, civility, mercy and grace? His kids should read his writings! I would ignore him if I were you or you risk becoming like him. Calling you "sonny", "creep", and "fool" amongst other disgusting words should tell you that he is not a very happy man inside at present. In IMHO I think he is capable of alot better.
I don't know. I'd rather we not sue people every time they call us a name. Just imagine the backlog with Canadian Cynic's cases...
