I find it a little interesting that Michael Michaud, Democratic Cogressman from Maine is now stating that David Emerson told him privately that the Harper government is "willing to re-open NAFTA".
The Government has formally denied it.
It reads a little bit like retaliation against the Conservative government in Canada, for the perceived malice from the Conservatives in the Obama-NAFTA debacle. For that reason, on the surface, I give Mr. Michaud's sudden revelation of Conservative doublespeak, little credibility. I note that Mr. Michaud has publicly endorsed Senator Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Of course, this hasn't stopped Mr. Potato Head from doing another little dance. I think the buzz from being given seal of approval by the über-nationalist, protectionist Lou Dobbs, hasn't worn off, yet.

That was a spectacle. Would have been interesting if the conversation had wandered into a discussion of illegal immigration - i suspect the love fest might have ended.
I have no doubt that Lou Dobbs knows nothing of this mans politics..
He may not feel so warm and fuzzy if he knew how much of a Marxist Jack really is..

Blinks, double blinks. This is the man that wanted our troops hauled out of Afghanistan and sent to Darfur, so sending our troops to be target practice for the Arab/China/Russia funded Janjaweed in the Horn of Africa is "Canadian Values" what Canadians and who's values is he harping on about. What clear objective was in his mind, other than a suicide mission for our troops. The NDP have been shoving multicult down our throats and telling us we don't have a culture and yet his site boast about "Canadian Values". Gag me with a really really big ladle.
Mr. Layton has not much time for anyone who hasn't seen "the light" as he proclaims it.I have had email fencing with him and he isn't much of a challenge. He thinks that if his thrusts are parried quickly because they're inadqeuate, it's better to retreat and ignore the facts thrust back at him. I still remember how hypocritical their (Laytons') tenure was on City Council in Toronto - what I haven't fully decided is whether the present council is worse - I am still tossing coins.
